Bid on Lap Quilts From Lynn Aguado to Support the Library
Beautiful lap quilts from East Lansing resident Lynn Aguado will be available for bids in the library’s 2022 Books, Baskets & Bids auction, April 18-25. We will post a link when the auction launches.
Lynn Aguado has been a resident of East Lansing and an avid patron of the library since 2007. She loves to read almost as much as she loves to sew., and with the help of ELPL’s subscriptions to hoopla and Overdrive, she can listen to audiobooks while sewing and do both! Lynn has been sewing since she was in grade school and has made clothing, bags and purses, and of course, quilts. With quilting, she loves the creative process, the precision, the colors and designs, and the feel of working with fabric. During the pandemic Lynn sewed masks for family, friends and to donate in the community, and when that need was covered she started making throw-sized quilts as gifts. She had extra quilt squares, fabric and batting and decided to make these lap quilts to donate to the library. Lynn works at Michigan State University, is married to Norberto who teaches at Mott Community College, and has a son named Lucas who studies music education at Western Michigan University. Her favorite book genres are historical fiction, detective stories and mysteries.
